01Charge it
Plug the USB-C cable into the port under the flap at the bottom of the back. Give the scoreboard at least 2 hours before your first game, and the remote 30 minutes. A full charge lasts up to 30 hours on the Standard battery, or 60 on the Extended.

02Switch it on
Flip the Main Power switch, under the same flap. When the screen shows A | b, it’s ready for a new game. The power button at the top of the back, next to the pairing button, turns the display off and on, and wakes the scoreboard when it’s asleep.

03Put it where everyone can see
Most players put it at mid-court, facing the players, so both teams and anyone watching can see it. It reads in sun or shade.

The blue light on the scoreboard means you’re connected. Now tap A or B to pick who serves first, and play. Moving a remote from another scoreboard? Hold its power button for 1.5 seconds instead.

- Game overWhen a team wins, the score flashes and the board plays a short tune. It keeps counting if you play on. Hold A + B to start the next game.
Game settings
Singles, rally scoring, games to 15. Your rules.
On the new-game screen (A | b), hold A + B to open settings. Then tap B to change an option and A to confirm it. Try it on the board below.
- SEtSettings are open. It moves on to the first option by itself.
- dbL / SnGLDoubles or singles.
- SIdE / rALL / USAPSide-out scoring, where only the serving team scores. Rally scoring, where every rally scores. Or USAP, USA Pickleball’s 2026 rally rules: in doubles, the serve starts from the right after every side-out.
- L11Play to 9, 11, 15 or 21 points. Rally scoring starts at 21; tap B to change it.
- -2 / -1Win by 2 or win by 1. Tapping A here saves everything.
Group Mode
One remote, up to four boards.
Put a board at each end of the court, or one facing each team. Every board in the group shows the same score, and one remote runs them all. Update each board first.

- Hold 7 sStart with the board your remote is paired to. Hold its pairing button for 7 seconds. It beeps at 2 seconds: keep holding. At 7 seconds it shows GrP and looks for a group.
- GrP1It beeps and shows GrP1: this is the main board. A corner lights for each board in the group, and the next corner blinks while it waits for more. It waits one minute.
- Hold 7 sWithin that minute, hold the next board’s pairing button for 7 seconds, past the beep.
- Pr 2It beeps twice and shows Pr 2: it’s in. The main board shows GrP2. Add a third and fourth board the same way.
- PlayPlay. Score with the remote as usual, and every board shows the same score. After the minute, the main board goes back to its game screen.
- FlipBoard facing the other way? Press its power and pairing buttons together to swap its sides, so each team’s score is on their side.
- TapTap a pairing button any time to check: GrP2 on the main board, Pr 2 on the others, Solo on a board on its own.
- The boards stay grouped through sleep and the power button, and sleep and wake together.
- Only the main board takes the remote or the app. The others follow it.
- Done? Switch each board’s Main Power off and on, and it starts on its own again.

Troubleshooting
Something not right?
Power and display
The board won’t light up
If it’s asleep or the display was turned off, tap the remote’s power button or the scoreboard’s power button. Still dark, or it shows bAtt and goes back to sleep? Make sure the Main Power switch is on, and charge it over USB-C. At 25% or less it won’t start a new game, and below 15% it sleeps even mid-game.
The display is too dim or too bright
The scoreboard sets its brightness from the light sensor on the front, so keep that window clean and uncovered. To set it yourself, connect the Dropshot app and use Brightness on the Scoreboard screen: four levels, or Automatic. At 25% battery or less it dims itself to save power.
The remote
The remote won’t connect
Put the scoreboard in pairing mode: hold its pairing button for 2 seconds, until it beeps. Then tap the remote’s power button. If the remote was paired to a different scoreboard before, hold its power button for 1.5 seconds instead to re-pair it. The blue light on the scoreboard comes on when you’re connected. If the remote doesn’t respond at all, charge it over USB-C.
The remote’s blue light keeps flickering
A quick flicker means the remote is looking for its scoreboard. Make sure the scoreboard’s Main Power is on and it’s close by. New remote? Hold the scoreboard’s pairing button for 2 seconds, until it beeps, then tap the remote’s power button. Moving a remote from another scoreboard? Hold its power button for 1.5 seconds instead. If the scoreboard is connected to the Dropshot app, it can’t take the remote at the same time.
The remote does nothing on a group of boards
In a group, only the main board takes the remote. Tap a board’s pairing button to see which one it is: the main board shows GrP, the others show Pr. To move your remote to the main board, hold its pairing button for 2 seconds, until it beeps, and let go. Then hold the remote’s power button for 1.5 seconds.
Scoring and settings
We gave the point to the wrong team
Hold A for 1.5 seconds to undo the last rally (or side switch). Hold A again to step back another one.
The server or serving side looks wrong
The board follows the rules from the first serve, so a mistake early on carries forward. Undo back to the rally where it went wrong, or hold A + B to reset and start again. If the teams are on the wrong sides of the board, tap A + B together to switch sides.
How do I play singles, rally scoring or a game to 15?
Change it in game settings: hold A + B on the new-game screen, tap B to change an option and A to confirm it.
How do I link two or more scoreboards?
Use Group Mode: one remote runs up to four boards, and they all show the same score. On the board your remote is paired to, hold the pairing button for 7 seconds, past the beep at 2 seconds, until it shows GrP1. Within a minute, do the same on each of the other boards, until each one shows Pr 2, Pr 3 or Pr 4. See it step by step.
Both boards show GrP1? The second one missed the minute and started a group of its own. Switch both boards’ Main Power off and on, and start again.
The app
The app can’t find my scoreboard
The app only lists scoreboards in pairing mode. Hold the scoreboard’s pairing button for 2 seconds, until it beeps, then give the app a few seconds to find it (tap Scan Again if the scan has stopped). Make sure Bluetooth is on and allowed for Dropshot in your iPhone’s Settings. A scoreboard that’s connected to a remote or to another phone or watch won’t show up until you put it back in pairing mode. How to connect the app.
Updates
How do I update the scoreboard or remote?
Go to update.godropshot.com in Chrome or Edge on a computer, or Chrome on an Android phone. It updates the scoreboard and the remote over Bluetooth, and the scoreboard downloads its update over Wi-Fi.
On iPhone, use the Dropshot app: connect the scoreboard, then tap the Scoreboard card on Home. Its firmware section shows when an update is available. The scoreboard needs Wi-Fi to download it, and the app walks you through setting that up. The remote updates from the same screen, under Remote control firmware.
Keep the scoreboard charged or plugged in while it updates. Updates bring new features and fixes.
Outdoors and care
Can I leave it outside?
Play outside all you like: the scoreboard and the remote are IP54, splash and sweat resistant. Don’t submerge them, wipe them dry if they get wet, and bring them in after play. They’re made to be stored between −10 and 45 °C (14–113 °F), so not in a hot car. More in care and safety.

Every part, front to back
Scoreboard, front
- Display: big green digits you can read from across the court.
- Server dots: in side-out doubles, one or two dots on the serving team’s side show server 1 or 2.
- Corner lights: show whether the serve comes from the right or left court.
- Blue light: on while the remote or the app is connected.
- Battery light: shows how much charge is left.
- Light sensor: sets the brightness for sun or shade. Keep it clean and uncovered.

- Main Power switch: turns the scoreboard on and off.
- Power button: turns the display off between games, and back on.

The charging light on the back of the scoreboard blinks red while it charges and stays solid red when it’s full.
Battery and charging
Scoreboard: up to 30 hours of play on the Standard battery, or 60 hours on the Extended. A full charge takes about 10 hours (Standard) or 20 hours (Extended) with a USB-C Power Delivery charger, and longer from a basic 5 V adapter. Charge it for at least 2 hours before your first game.
- Use a certified USB-C charger, standard 5 V or USB-C Power Delivery, and the included cable.
- After 10 minutes with no presses, the scoreboard goes to sleep with three tones. Your game is kept. Tap its power button, or the remote’s power button, to wake it. (A or B wakes it too, but also scores a point.)
- Between games, tap the power button to turn the display off. You can leave the Main Power switch on.
- Switching the Main Power off clears the game in progress. Your settings are kept. Storing it for more than 30 days, or traveling? Switch it off.
Remote: a full charge takes about 2 hours over USB-C. Charge it for 30 minutes before first use. If it can’t find its scoreboard for a minute, it turns itself off. Tap its power button to turn it back on.
Care and safety
Care
- Switch it off, then wipe it with a dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth. Don’t use solvents or scouring pads.
- Keep the light sensor window clean, and the flap over the ports closed during play.
- Both the scoreboard and the remote are IP54: splash and sweat resistant. Don’t submerge either one, and wipe them dry if they get wet.
- Store them between −10 and 45 °C (14–113 °F), so not in a hot car.
Safety
- Read these instructions before use.
- Charge only with a certified USB-C charger.
- Don’t open the case. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
- If a battery swells or leaks, or a case is cracked, stop using it and contact support.
- The remote and its clip are small parts. Keep them away from young children.
- Use them between 0 and 40 °C (32–104 °F).

One-year limited warranty on every scoreboard, remote and official accessory. It covers manufacturing defects, component failures not caused by misuse, internal battery failures not caused by external damage, and firmware problems that affect normal use. It doesn’t cover drops and impacts, improper storage, water damage beyond the IP54 rating, use outside the temperature ranges, cosmetic wear, or unauthorized repairs or modifications.
