Born From Obsession

It happened in the middle of a great game on a sunny afternoon in San Diego. We were in a long rally — the kind where everyone is dialed in, laughing, pushing, competing, and totally in the zone.

Then it happened.

Someone called out, “Wait. What’s the score?”

Everyone looked at each other. A couple of different answers came back. Someone tried to retrace rallies out loud. Another swore they were right. The energy died, the rhythm disappeared, and the magic of the moment was gone.

If you’ve played pickleball more than a few times, you’ve lived this exact scene. It’s the most fun sport on earth, yet we constantly stop to argue about a number.

And I remember thinking: why hasn’t anyone solved this?

The Turning Point

What we built isn’t just a scoreboard.

Dropshot was born from equal parts frustration and respect.

Frustration that a great game could lose its rhythm over something so small.

Respect for the sport and the players who care about doing it right.

Our team set out to build something simple, intuitive, and reliable—a scoreboard that blends into the game instead of interrupting it. We wanted players to keep their focus on the rally, not on remembering numbers. With a single tap on a remote or Apple Watch, Dropshot updates the score, serving position, and server number automatically. No debates. No breaks in momentum. Just play.

Engineered for the Way You Play

Every court. Elevated.

Designing Dropshot wasn’t about adding more technology—it was about making technology invisible.

It had to work every time, in every condition. That meant building a device bright enough to cut through sunlight, rugged enough to handle outdoor courts, and smart enough to adjust automatically to its environment. It meant testing every LED, refining every enclosure angle, and building a Bluetooth connection that just works.

Every decision was made with one question in mind: Would this make the game smoother?

If the answer wasn’t yes, we stripped it out.

Built by Players Who Care

Dropshot wasn’t created in a boardroom—it was designed by players who love this sport. The kind of people who show up early to sweep the courts, who bring the extra paddles for newcomers, and who stay for “one more game” even when the sun’s going down.

We’ve spent months testing prototypes, watching players interact with them, and listening to what mattered most: visibility, simplicity, reliability, and ease of setup. The result is a scoreboard that makes every game feel more official and every rally flow more naturally.

Play With Confidence. Protect the Moment.

Pickleball deserves tools that match its energy—clean, confident, and competitive. Dropshot keeps games fair, visible, and effortless, so players can focus on what really matters: the moment between serves, the laughter between points, and the satisfaction of a game played right.

When the score is clear, the game stays pure. That’s what Dropshot stands for.

Our Mission

We’re here to elevate the way people play, one court at a time. Whether it’s friends battling at the park or facilities managing dozens of games at once, Dropshot helps every match run smoother and feel more connected.

Because great games aren’t about the arguments in between—they’re about the moments in motion.
